Well anyways, I got a bunch of wps cards too lately, not gonna scan em now, and also me being the genius I am, Passed my CHEMISTRY STATE TEST with a 65 YESSSSSS i guessed on every question. Yeah its finals week for me, and tomorrow is the only subject Im good at, yep you guessed it.. United States History!

Fifa Fifa Fifa! Awesome stuff right here, soccer cards are always appreciated! Im writing this right after watching USA tie England 1-1 today. I like Usa because tehre my home country, but I also like Spain, Germany, and Australia. Who do you guys want to win the world cup?

First we got some cards from the “Distinguished Service” set from 2007 topps which honors various people in Military history

I find Richard Bong the most interesting out of these, He was referred to as the “Ace of Aces” and shot down 40 Japanese aircraft in the south pacific of WW2, thats the most in air force history! Lots of respect to all of these individuals though!

Chris also sent over a few cool Mets cards!

My favorite cards of these are probably the ginters, they just have a certain feel to em that only ginter has!

And the last thing in the package was something I bought from Chris and it is sure an awesome addition to my collection!!

This is a World War 2 Victory medal which was given to anybody who served in the U.S armed forces from December 7th 1941, until December 31st 1946. This is a really nice piece and Im glad to own it!

And now for some stuff I got off eBay, Ill save the best for last!

Lets get it started with Buttplates (you can laugh) from an M1- Garand rifle from the Korean War

These go on the back of the rifle, and there is a hatch that can open up where the cleaning kit is stored inside the wooden stock. Only one of the 2 has the door left on it and it still opens perfectly!

The door is spring loaded and is pretty darn secure so whatever your keeping inside the gun isnt going anywhere!

And now for probably my favorite item in all of my collection! I got this on eBay after searching for good deals, losing auctions, gettin sniped, too high prices for a few weeks now until I got this uncontested for a real good price! Check this out!

Yep! An actual M1 Helmet from the Vietnam War! This thing is legit, not a kids toy, Its made of hard steel and is Military issue! ( Ace shown for scale) It came complete with the Mitchell Camo Cover, the Liner and the Steel Pot part of the helmet, heres a few pictures!

This is the liner, made of plastic or wood, not gonna protect you from anything, this goes under the steel protective part, but the liner s important because it holds some accessories in place and helps the helmet fit to your head. The inside of the liner looks like this:

For instance, I attached a sweatband to the liner, the sweatband did not come with the helmet so I had to find some on eBay. . The sweatband is the Leather tan colored part inside there. That Particular one is from 1986. Yes I know its not Vietnam era, but I bought a lot of 2 and the other one is from Vietnam, 1972. So I figured I should keep the older one in good condition and not use it now. Heres what the sweat band looks like:

This is the one from 1972, it clips on to the liner. It has some markings on it too, cant really read or, nor do I know what they mean:

Yay, you got to see my hand! Haha, well yeah thats the sweatband and liner. So now heres what the steel pot looks like:

Yeah its kinda old and gritty lookin, but hey, adds to the “War Torn” Affect! Its kinda dirty looking though, so thats why I usually keep the cover on it. The cover goes inside this and then the Liner keeps it in place. The cover is also reversable so you can have camo in desert areas:

Vietnam had mostly jungles so I prefer the green camo. So thats the deal with the helmet! I plan on adding a few more attachments to it, like a chin strap, a elastic band to tie around it and hold things around it, such as ammo, bug repellant, and Aces. But yeah, I wear the helmet haha, It weighs about 5 pounds, its 10 times bigger than my head and I get a stiff neck if I wear it for more than 10 mins…. Still I think its my new favorite item in my growing collection! Ill put up a picture of me wearing it once I get everything for it.
